Strengthening healthcare in Ternopil: Our latest medical aid delivery
Last week, Insamlingsstiftelsen Sverige-Ukraina (ISSU) delivered a new shipment of medical equipment and supplies to hospitals in the Ternopil region of Ukraine. Our CEO, Martin Stober, personally accompanied the delivery and met with representatives from the regional health authorities.
The aid was distributed to Ternopil Regional Clinical Hospital and cluster hospitals across the region, where it will strengthen local capacity to provide treatment, rehabilitation, and psychological support for both civilians and veterans. In total, 4 tons of medical equipment valued at over SEK 1.2 million was handed over, all designated exclusively for humanitarian purposes.
Among the delivered goods were:
Surgical and emergency care instruments
Advanced medical mattresses and pressure-relief systems
Sterilization and orthopedic equipment
This delivery builds on a long-standing partnership between ISSU and Ternopil Regional State Administration. Since March 2022, we have worked side by side with the Department of Health to respond to urgent medical needs. In September 2023, this cooperation was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, with a shared commitment to developing healthcare services in the region.
“This contribution is very valuable and important and will help many people in treatment and rehabilitation. We thank you for your participation and support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people at a time when we are defending our freedom and democracy from Russian aggression,” said the Department of Health of the Ternopil Regional State Administration in an official statement.
At Insamlingsstiftelsen Sverige-Ukraina, we remain committed to supporting Ukraine’s healthcare system in these challenging times. Together with our partners, we are working to provide not only immediate relief but also long-term resilience in the face of war.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our donors, partners, and individual supporters. Your generosity makes these efforts possible. Every contribution, large or small, helps save lives, strengthens hospitals, and supports the recovery of civilians and veterans.
Together, we are making a real difference for Ukraine.
